4th graders recently finished a tech/art project. Students were introduced to Adobe Photoshop. A variety of tools and skills were taught: working with multiple files simultaneously, file management, working with layers, copying & pasting, altering images through rotating and rescaling, the magnetic lasso tool, the paint bucket and paint brush tool, the gradient tool, and the font tool.
Students were provided with several animal photographs. They were given the challenge to create an imaginary animal. On the last day students had to add a background and sign their work. All students had the same 5 animal photographs to work from (rabbit, fish, alligator, zebra, and a parrot). It’s amazing how unique each student’s creature is.
